Hello and thank you for your comments. I understand that the sales profession has gotten tarnished in recent years. This is one of the reasons why I wrote this post. Hopefully things will turn around.

As for the radio show, Owls with Issues, we will consider this topic for sure. Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the topics we choose are not up to me, but rather the group as a whole. At the end of the day we strive to give the FAU community the topics they want to hear, so feedback like this is very important.

Unfortunately the 'sales' discipline has become devalued, mostly because of scam activities and the 100% commission jobs that even respected companies are offering.

When a company like Merill Lynch gives out sales positions like candy and offers only 100% commissions, it really says they feel sales jobs are s%$&T! And to make problems worse, we have people lured into financial gain only to find sales was never their true calling, and this makes for an inefficient economy...They are not good at sales so they waste a few productive years and steal/scam people. Whenever people are in jobs they are not meant to do, we have inefficiency, just look at Wall Street!

On a separate note, is Owls with Issues ever going to discuss the situation at the UP? I think it would be a good idea, the UP has effectively monopolized control over student media and it would be a good opportunity for another outlets analysis and viewpoint. Since they are the only group covering the situation, there is a bias and conflict of interest.

Plus the Owls with Issues could see a dramatic increase in student awareness for their own show...
